No. 4 Franklin Pierce Handles Baseball, 11-3

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (March 19, 2011) – The C.W. Post baseball team fell victim to the fourth-ranked Franklin Pierce Ravens, dropping an 11-3 contest on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
The Pioneers close out their Florida trip with a tough loss, falling to 1-16 on the season. Franklin Pierce improves to 14-4 on the season.
Five runs in the first inning gave the Ravens a boost, and although C.W. Post answered with one run in the second, courtesy of a
Casey McKay (North Massapequa, N.Y.) single that knocked in a run, Pierce responded with three more runs in the bottom of the inning.
Three more fifth inning runs gave FPU a 11-1 lead, and despite the Pioneers efforts in the ninth inning, pushing across two runs, C.W. Post fell to the powerhouse Ravens by a final of 11-3.
The Pioneers host Dowling for their East Coast Conference opener on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
