PAINESVILLE, OHIO (April 10, 2011) – The C.W. Post women's lacrosse team used a balance attack, as well as keeping the Lake Erie offense at bay, as the Pioneers earned conference win number three with a 21-0 victory in Ohio.  Jackie Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.) tallied seven points in the contest, scoring two goals and dishing out five assists.

Sileo got the scoring going less than two minutes into the game, scoring unassisted with only a minute and 42 seconds coming off the clock.  After then taking a 4-0 lead, Sileo assisted on goals five through eight for the Pioneers, with Morgan Chiarenza (Nesconset, N.Y.) scoring on two of those, back-to-back in the span of four and a half minutes.

Nan Mayott (Islip, N.Y.) and Michelle Fucich (Seaford, N.Y.) each tallied two goals during the first half for C.W. Post, with Mayott adding two assists and Fucich contributing one.

The Pioneer offense continued to generate a balanced effort, scoring eight of the teams 21 goals during the last stanza. Nicole Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.) and Taryn Crimi (West Islip, N.Y.) paced the group in the second with two assists each.  The duo also tallied goals over the course of the games, contributing three points apiece.

Three different Pioneer goalies accounted for the shutout, with the trio making three saves over the course of the game.  Dominique Mosca (Merrick, N.Y.) started in goal, with Sam Powers (Mattituck, N.Y.) coming on in relief with 12 minutes left in the first and then Powers was relieved by Katie Hannan (Ganesvoort, N.Y.) coming on with a little less than 20 minutes left in the game to close and preserve the shutout.

C.W. Post now improves to 3-0 in the ECC, with a 7-1 overall record.  The next matchup for the Pioneers is Tuesday at 4 p.m. on Hickox Field as the Knights of Queens will travel to Brookville for a ECC game.
