Freshman Jackie Sileo capped an impressive freshman season with ECC Rookie of the Year accolades.

Sileo Earns ECC Rookie of the Year, Nine Pioneers Named All-Conference

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (May, 12, 2011) – The C.W. Post women's lacrosse team placed nine players on the East Coast Conference teams, as frehsman Jackie Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.) headlined the list, earning 2011 Rookie of the Year Honors.

Sile, senior attacker Michelle Fucich (Seaford, N.Y.), sophomore attacker Abigail Ross (Miller Place, N.Y.), junior midfielder Lauren Spagnoletta (West Islip, N.Y.) and senior defender Chelsea Donaldson (Bay Shore, N.Y.) were named to the First Team, while junior attacker Nan Mayott (Islip, N.Y.), junior midfielder Brie-Claire Drost (Wading River, N.Y.), senior defender Jaclyn Coyne (Levittown, N.Y.) and sophomore goalkeeper Dominique Mosca (Merrick, N.Y.) all garnered spots on the Second Team.  

Sileo made an immediate impact on the Pioneers, posting one of the best freshman seasons in school history. Sileo finished the 2011 campaign with 34 goals and 67 assists for 101 points to lead C.W. Post. The six-time Rookie of the Week's point total was the third highest in the ECC and she also finished second in the conference with 3.94 assists per game.

Fucich capped her career with 28 goals and 28 assists, totaling 56 points.  She also was 6-12 in free position shots, while totaling 25 ground balls, 22 draw controls and five caused turnovers.  

Ross was second on the team in scoring with 38 goals on the season.  The sophomore earns her second straight All-Conference award, as she won 28 draw controls, caused three turnovers, and picked up 14 ground balls.  

Spagnoletta also earns All-Conference honors for the second time, as the junior had a standout season, scoring 62 goals to lead C.W. Post in scoring.  Totaling 73 points, she won a team-high 40 draw controls and was 11-23 in free position shots.  

Donaldson continued her dominant defensive ways as she picked up 38 ground balls and caused 21 turnovers, both tops on the team.  

Mayott scored 30 goals and added eight assists, winning 33 draws and picking up 19 ground balls.  

Drost moved up to midfiield this season with positive results, earning her first All-Conference nod after scoring 16 gaols with five assists, while picing up 31 ground balls and causing 20 turnovers.  

Coyne caps her career with her first All-Conference selection, as she was the crease defender for C.W. Post, picking up 37 ground balls and causing nine turnovers.  
 
Mosca had a strong sophomore season, posting a 12-4 record between the pipes.  In 872:40 minutes, she posted 141 saves for a .518 percentage, along with three shutouts.
