Turan Leads No. 3 Men's Soccer Past Philadelphia, 1-0

Cemil Turan (Staten Island, N.Y.) scored with under four minutes remaining in regulation to propel No. 3 LIU Post men's soccer to a 1-0 non-conference victory over Philadelphia University on Tuesday afternoon.
The Pioneers improve to 13-1 overall while Phildelphia stands at 7-5-4 on the season.
Neither team was able to scratch out a lead for the first half of play, and the battle continued into the second half. The Pioneers were awarded a penalty kick in the 66th minute, but junior
Eirik Bjoernoe's (Randaberg, Norway) shot hit the right post, and the game remained scoreless.
With overtime looming on the horizon, the Pioneers were awarded a free kick following a Philadelphia foul. Sophomore
Dusan Gargurevich (Quito, Ecuador) lofted a kick into the box, finding Turan, who blasted a curling shot into the upper right corner for the win.
LIU Post held a 20-10 edge in shots for the game, and generated eight corner kicks to none for the Rams. Junior goalkeeper
Marco Jorgensen (Copenhagen, Denmark) made six saves as he posted his fourth shutout of the season.
