Marciniak Tabbed ECC Player Of The Week
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Nov. 26, 2012) – Senior forward
Nicolette Marciniak (Brooklyn, N.Y.) of the LIU Post women's basketball team was named this week's East Coast Conference Player of the week, the conference announced this afternoon.
Marciniak led the Pioneers to a 2-0 weekend at the Dowling College Holiday Tournament, averaging 19.5 points per game on .560 shooting from the field (14-25). She also brought down 9.5 rebounds per game. In the win over Felician (Nov. 24), she shot 9-13 (.692) from field goal range and went 3-4 from the line for 21 total points and pulled down eight total rebounds. Against Goldey-Beacom College (Nov. 25), Marciniak registered her second double-double in the Pioneers 3-0 start, racking up 18 points and 11 boards.
The Pioneers host ECC rival University of Bridgeport on Saturday in their home opener at 1:30 p.m. in the Pratt Recreation Center.
