ECAC Championships Come to a Close for Women's Swimming

ANNAPOLIS, MD. (Feb. 26, 2012) – With the completion of two more events, the C.W. Post women's swimming team finished off the ECAC Championships on Sunday.

Malin Hedberg (Vasteras, Sweden) was the first Pioneer in competition, taking parting in the 1650 free event.  Hedberg clocked a time of 18:28.25 during the distance swim.

The second and last participant for the Pioneers was Chelcee Hew (Savage, Minn.), as she took part in the 'B' heat of the 200 breast.  Hew finished in a time of 2:27.46 during the heat. 

The Navy Academy finished at top of the women's rankings through the weekend filled 39 events, tallying 583 points.  Harvard and Marist tied for the second ranking, each totaling 529 points.  With limited participation during the various events, the Pioneer posted a ninth place ranking with 150.5 points. 

Next on the schedule will be the NCAA Championships in March, taking place in Mansfield, Texas.
