No. 3 Women's Lacrosse Rolls Over No. 11 Bentley, 18-3
Box Score WALTHAM, Mass. (March 18, 2012) – Sophomore
Jackie Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.) led the team with four goals and four assists, while
Abbie Ross (Miller Place, N.Y.) chipped in with three goas and two assists as the third-ranked C.W. Post women's lacrosse ran over the 11
th ranked Falcons of Bentley College by a final score of 18-3 on Sunday afternoon.
The Pioneers improve to 3-0 on the season while Bentley slides to 1-2.
Sileo opened the game by assisting
Ashley Olen (East Islip, N.Y.) on her first goal of the game at 28:08. The sophomore then scored two straight at 24:42 and 22:33 to open up a 3-0 lead for the Pioneers.
C.W. Post continued to extend its lead, scoring 11 straight to begin the game before Bentley even got on the board, including three by Ross and three by
Samantha Losco (Smithtown, N.Y.), and the Pioneers entered the halftime break with a 12-1 lead.
Megan Wiggins scored the second goal of the game for Bentley to open the second half, but The Pioneers responded with another Sileo goal,
Kathleen Rotan's (West Islip, N.Y.) second of the game, and two by
Nan Mayott (Islip, N.Y.) before Sileo struck again to cap the scoring for the day and give the Pioneers their 18th goal.
C.W. Post was led by Sileo, Ross and Losco, while Olen finished with two goals, along with Rotan, Mayott and
Lauren Spagnoletta (West Islip, N.Y.).
BriAnn DeLutri (North Massapequa, N.Y.) registered three assists to contribute to the victory.
Dominique Mosca (Merrick, N.Y.) was once again strong in goal, making six saves on the afternoon as she improved to 3-0.
C.W. Post is in action next as it travels to Lock Haven on March 24 for a 1 p.m. contest against the Eagles.
