Women's Swimming Announces Six Signed Recruits For 2012-13

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (April 25, 2012) – After a very successful 2011-12 season, Coach Maureen Travers and the C.W. Post women's swim team has announced six new signings for the 2012-13 season.

Katherine Kazaba will join the team out of Pt. Pleasant High School in New Jersey, looking to major in communications /public relations.  Her main event for the Pioneers will be sprint freestyle.

Coming from Cardiff, Wales is Seren Jones.  Jones competed at Plasmawr School and intends to major in geography.  She will add some depth in a few events, including the sprint freestyle, butterfly, and backstroke.

Traveling to join the Pioneers from Stavanger, Norway and completing her education at St. Svithun is Marthe Berg Sorenson.  Her main events of concentration coming into the Pioneer program are the sprint freestyle and butterfly.  She is also currently undecided towards a major.

The fourth sprint freestyler of the group, while also looking to compete in the backstroke is Meghan Brazier.  Brazier resides in West Vancouver, Canada, and attended high school at Sentinel Secondary.  Her plans are to major in international business.

A local product, Joyce Kwok will not be far from home by joining the Pioneer team, coming from Middle Village, N.Y. and graduating from Francis Lewis High School.  She is also a versatile swimmer that will be competing for spots in the freestyle, butterfly, and backstroke events.

Kirsty Elliot comes out of George Watson College in Edinburgh, Scotland.  She is the lone signee that will be coming in to compete in the distance freestyle events and also backstroke events.  She is planning on majoring in education.
