Baseball All-Conference Teams Announced; Eight Pioneers Earn All-ECC Honors

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (May 11, 2012) – The 2012 East Coast Conference Baseball teams were released today and the Pioneers placed three players on the first team, and five on the Second Team.
 
Junior pitchers Bo Budkevics (Deer Park, N.Y.) and Anthony Zapulla (Staten Island, N.Y.) were named to the First Team as a starting pitcher and a relief pitcher, respectively.  Joining them is junior Kevin Chenicek (Levittown, N.Y.), who was named to the team as a utility player.
 
Garnering Second Team honors were sophomore third baseman  Tom Tolan (Malverne, N.Y.), junior shortstop Keith Herring (New York, N.Y.), sophomore outfielder Vinny Iacono (Nesconset, N.Y.), freshman designated hitter Anthony Brunetti (Bayville, N.Y.) and senior pitcher James Stone (Massapequa, N.Y.). 
 
The Pioneers ended the 2012 season with a 13-inning loss to Bridgeport in the ECC Championships.  They finished with a 27-19 record overall and a 16-8 conference slate.
