IWLCA Names Five Women's Lacrosse Players to All-America First Team

BALTIMORE, Md.  (May 24, 2012) -     The IWLCA has honored 32 student-athletes in Division II with a selection on one of the All-American teams for 2012, and five member's of the C.W. Post women's lacrosse team earned notice of the First Team.  

The IWLCA will honor the National All-Americans at the IWLCA All-American banquet on June 16, 2012 at the Radisson Hotel Valley Forge in King of Prussia, Pa.

Selections from the Pioneers include senior defender Chelsea Donaldson
 (Bay Shore, N.Y.), senior midfielder Lauren Spagnoletta (West Islip, N.Y.), and sophomore attacker Jackie Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.), junior goalkeeper Dominique Mosca (Merrick, N.Y.), and junior attacker Ashley Olen (East Islip, N.Y.).

Two-time IWLCA All-American and East Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year Chelsea Donaldson (Bay Shore, N.Y.) has again anchored a defense that finished fifth in Division II allowing just 8.39 goals per game. The senior captain has again put up strong numbers, picking up a team-hihg 39 ground balls and causing 13 turnovers.

Junior goalkeeper Dominique Mosca (Merrick, N.Y.) was the vocal leader of the backfield, with a 17-3 record between the pipes, and ranked in the top five in the country in goals against average and save percentage.

Senior midfielder and 2011 IWLCA All-American Lauren Spagnoletta (West Islip, N.Y.) totaled 58 points (44g, 14a), a team-high 53 draw controls, 27 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers.

Sophomore attacker Jackie Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.), the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Championships as well as the East Coast Conference player of the year earns her second straight All-America citation as she totaled a Division II-best 141 points with 45 goals and 96 assists.  She set a new progam record for single-season poinst and assists. 

Junior attacker Ashley Olen (East Islip, N.Y.) rebounded from an ACL tear that forced her to the sidelines in 2011 by returning to form that saw her earn All-America honors in 2010 as well as notice on the Tewaarton Trophy Watch list in 2011.  She led the Pioneers and totaled 74 goals in 2012, setting a new program record for single-season scoring.  

The Pioneers won the 2012 National Championship, the third in the history of the program, defeating West Chester, 17-16.
