No. 3 Women's Lacrosse to Host No. 2 Adelphi in NCAA First Round

INDIANAPOLIS (May 6, 2012)  The NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Committee has selected the teams that will compete in the 2012 Division II Women's Lacrosse Championship, and the C.W. Post women's lacrosse team recieved the third seed in the North Region. 

The championship provides for a six-team tournament. Two first-round games will be conducted May 12 at campus sites. Winners of the first-round games will advance to the semifinals to play the No.1-seeded teams and final, to be played May 17 and 19 at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky as part of the Division II Festival. Bellarmine will serve as host for the championship.

In the North region, the No. 3 seed, C.W. Post (14-3), will play No. 2 Adelphi (16-2), with C.W. Post serving as host. The winner will advance to play Rollins, the No. 1 seed from the North region. In the South region, the No. 3-seed West Chester will play No. 2 seed Limestone, which will serve as host. The winner will advance to play Le Moyne, the No. 1 seed from the South region.

C.W. Post has participated in the NCAA Championship tournament a record ten times, including four of the last five seasons. The Pioneers have advanced to the championship final in 2008 and 2009, and won their second national title against West Chester University in 2007.
