CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Oct. 7, 2013) - On Monday, the East Coast Conference announced its weekly award winners with freshman outside hitter Shelby McCool (Eugene, Ore.) of the LIU Post volleyball team being named the ECC Player of the Week.

McCool was previously named Rookie of the Week after the first week of the season had concluded.

The freshman led the Pioneers to a 3-0 week, as she posted 39 kills, averaging 4.33 per set, alongside an attack percentage of .365. She was the key to her squad's sweep of previously-unbeaten NYIT, as she was the lone Pioneer to reach double digits with 17 kills. Against Queens, the Eugene, Ore. native registered her fourth double-double of the season with 19 kills and 21 digs.

McCool and the Pioneers are back in action on Tuesday (Oct. 8), when they head to Oakdale, N.Y. to take on ECC rival Dowling. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
