Football Lands Five Names on All-NE-10 Roster

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. (Nov. 20, 2013) - On Wednesday, the Northeast-10 Conference handed out its year-end football accolades, and LIU Post had five players garner distinction. Senior linebacker 
Rob Bright (East Meadow, N.Y.) paved the way, earning a first-team nod.
Bright led the Pioneers, and ranked second in the NE-10, in tackles in 2013 with 129. That total also listed him ninth amongst all of NCAA Division II in that category. Plus, Bright accrued 3.5 sacks on the year, and forced a fumble, which occurred in a 58-0 rout of Pace on Homecoming (Oct. 19).
Sophomore 
Julian Santiago (Selden, N.Y.), standing side-by-side with Bright at linebacker, was picked to the All-NE-10 second-team. He placed second on the squad, and sixth in the league. in tackles (91), while contributing a forced fumble, and a 42-yard interception return on the season.
Senior defensive back 
Chris DiIorio (Holtsville, N.Y.) rounded out LIU Post's defensive honorees. The green and gold's third-leading tackler, he tallied 73 of them in 11 contests, nine of which went for a loss. DiIorio tied fellow senior 
Tommy Williams (Westbury, N.Y.) and freshman 
Clarence Sears (Montclair, N.J.) for the team-lead in interceptions as well, with three.
On offense, a pair of wideouts claimed postseason kudos. Senior 
Joe Botti (Holtsville, N.Y.) was a second-team pick, and red-shirt freshman 
Michael Richardson (West Babylon, N.Y.) landed a spot on the Northeast-10 All-Rookie squad.
The duo spearheaded the Pioneers' receiving core this year. Botti caught 62 passes for 878 yards and 12 touchdowns. His 12 scores ranked third in the conference, and 15th in the country. On the other hand, Richardson, who averaged just over 10.0 yards per punt, and 18.2 yards per kickoff return, hauled in 48 balls for 601 yards and five TD's.
Head Coach 
Bryan Collins and his LIU Post squad finished the 2013 campaign at 5-6 overall. That record included a 3-6 mark versus Northeast-10 opposition.
