BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Feb. 26, 2013) - The LIU Post Pioneers, the reigning national champions, remain at No. 1 in the first weekly poll for the 2013 season.
The Northeast-10 and the PSAC both have five schools in the top-15, with the NE-10 claiming half of the top-10 spots.
All five of the NE-10 schools sit in the top-10 of the preseason poll, led by LeMoyne at No. 2 and Adelphi at No. 5. Stonehill starts a block of three institutions at No. 7, with New Haven (No. 8) and Bentley (No. 9) right behind the Skyhawks.
West Chester leads the PSAC at No. 3; Lock Haven rounds out the top-10 at No. 10. Bloomsburg leads a trio of schools at No. 12; Gannon (No. 13) and Mercyhurst (No. 14) fall in right after the reigning PSAC tournament champions.
LIU Post from the ECC leads the poll and is joined by Dowling as the Golden Lions sit just outside the top-10 at No. 11.
Rollins, a 2012 semifinalist and an independent in lacrosse, moves up to No. 4, while South Region rivals Limestone remains at No. 6 and Florida Southern holds at No. 15.
