Baseball Tripped Up by St. Michael's
Box Score BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (March 12, 13) – The Pioneers got off to a quick start but fell to St. Michael's in a non-conference matchup in Lantana, Fla.
LIU Post falls to 3-7 on the season, while the Purple Knights improve to 1-0.
The Pioneers came out of the gate quick, putting up four runs in their half of the first inning. After

Anthony Corona doubled home
Casey McKay, giving the Pioneers a 2-0 lead.
Kevin Chenicek moved Corona to third with a fly-out to right field and
Angel Pimentel doubled home Corona. After a stolen base by Pimentel and a walk to David Grovenveld, the Pioneers executed a double steal, plating Pimentel, capping the scoring for the Pioneers in the inning.
The Purple Knights chipped away at the lead by scoring once in the second and third innings, then went ahead for good with three in the fourth. They added three in the fifth, four in the seventh and one more in the eighth.
The Pioneers answered with one run in the fifth, but failed to push across another run, falling to the Purple Knights, 13-5.
Bo Budkevics took the loss, falling to 0-2 on the season.
Next up for the Pioneers is a matchup against Nyack College on March 12 at 3 p.m.
