Sileo Grabs Third Consecutive ECC Player Of The Week Honors

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (March 19, 2013) – For the third straight week, junior attacker Jackie Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.) of the No. 1 LIU Post women's lacrosse team has been named the East Coast Conference Player of the Week.

In a two-game span, Sileo set a new school record for career assists (193) and tied the NCAA Division II mark for career assists (204) as she tallied 22 points for the week on 15 assists and seven goals. Sileo totaled three goals and seven assists as the Pioneers handled No. 11 New Haven, 22-13, then scored four goals and registered eight assists as they dismantled Holy Family, 22-6.

The top-ranked LIU Post women's lacrosse team continued its perfect start to the season, notching wins over New Haven, 22-13, and Holy Family, 22-6, to improve to 5-0 overall. The Pioneers were led by senior Ashley Olen (East Islip, N.Y.) with 17 points (12 g, 5 a) and Sileo with 22 points (7 g, 15 a). Junior Katie Hannan (Gansevoort, N.Y.) registered her first two starts in goal and posted two victories along with a .457 save percentage.

LIU Post has a big test on Wednesday as it hosts No. 8 Dowling College in the Pioneers' ECC opener.
