No. 1 Women's Lacrosse Pounds Philadelphia, 19-3

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (March 5, 2013) – The top-ranked LIU Post women's lacrosse team scored 16 straight goals en route to a 19-3 trouncing of Philadelphia University on Tuesday afternoon.
The Pioneers improve to 2-0 while Philadelphia falls to 0-1.
Juniors
Morgan Chiarenza (Nesconset, N.Y.) and
Samantha Losco (Smithtown, N.Y.) each scored to put the Pioneers on the scoreboard, 2-0. Philadelphia's Libby Nichols scored for the Rams at 26:08, but the Pioneers scored 16 straight markers to blow the game open and take a commanding 18-1 lead.
Philadelphia scored two late goals but the game was far out of reach by that point.
Leading the way for the Pioneers was junior
Jackie Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.) with nine assists. Losco scored a team-high five goals, and junior
Katie Rotan (West Islip, N.Y.) was right behind her with four goals. Senior
Ahsley Olen (East Islip, N.Y.) and Chiarenza each notched hat-tricks, while senior
Abbie Ross (Miller Place, N.Y.) added two goals.
In goal, senior
Dominique Mosca (Merrick, N.Y.) earned the victory with four saves and one goal allowed in 47:21. Junior
Katie Hannan (Gansevoort, N.Y.) played 8:53 and made one save, and freshman
Kasey Kephart (Hauppauge, N.Y.) played the final 3:46.
Next up for the Pioneers is another trip, this time to Southern new Hampshire on Saturday, March 9 at 1 p.m.
