Women's Lacrosse Remains No. 1 in IWLCA Poll for Second Straight Week
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (March 6, 2013) – The LIU Post Pioneers, the reigning national champions remain atop the IWLCA Division II Poll for Week 2.
Both the Northeast-10 and the PSAC have five schools in the poll, with the NE-10 claiming five of the top-10 spots in the rankings.
The Northeast-10 is led by No. 2 LeMoyne while Adelphi remains at No. 5 Stonehill (No. 7), New Haven (No. 8), and Bentley (No. 9) also hold steady from the first weekly poll.
West Chester leads the PSAC at No. 3. Lock Haven leads a trio of PSAC schools at No. 11; Bloomsburg (No. 12) and Gannon (No. 13) follow right behind while Mercyhurst rounds out the poll at No. 15.
LIU Post leads the poll and is joined by Dowling in the top-10 as the Golden Lions move up to the No. 10 spot for this week. Conference Carolinas also has two schools in the rankings as No. 6 Limestone is joined by Pfeiffer, who enters the rankings at No. 14.
Rollins, a 2012 semifinalist and an independent in lacrosse, holds at No. 4.
In their last game, the Pioneers scored 16 straight goals in route to a 19-3 win over Philadelphia University.
