BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (April 24, 2013) – The top-ranked LIU Post women's lacrosse team dispatched East Coast Conference foe Molloy College 17-6 on Wednesday evening.

The Pioneers remain perfect at 15-0 overall and 6-0 in ECC action, while Molloy evens at 8-8 overall and 3-3 in conference play.

Notable performances on the offense end were led by junior attacker Jackie Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.), who tallied 11 points behind nine assists and two goals.  Junior Katie Rotan (West Islip, N.Y.) and senior Ashley Olen (East Islip, N.Y.) both registered four goals, while senior Abbie Ross (Miller Place, N.Y.) garnered a hat trick.  Junior Samantha Losco (Smithtown, N.Y.) chipped in with two goals and an assist.

Senior midfielder Brie-Claire Drost (Wading River, N.Y.) got the Pioneers rolling at 28:23 in the first as she scored unassisted, followed by a Ross goal, two Olen scores, a Rotan tally, and another Ross goal, giving the Pioneers a 6-0 lead.  Lianne Scorcia scored for the Lions at 12:09, but Rotan, Olen, Losco and junior Morgan Chiarenza (Nesconset, N.Y.) closed out the half with scores to take a 10-1 visitor lead into halftime.

Molloy opened the second half with four straight markers, cutting the Pioneer lead to five (10-5) at 17:18, but the Pioneer defense clamped down and the offense got rolling again as Sileo had a hand the next five goals, assisting Rotan twice and Ross once and scoring two of her own to put the Pioneers back to a comfortable 15-5 margin.

Scorcia scored again at 7:54 but that would be all for the Lions on the evening as Losco (5:30) and Olen (1:24) scored the final tallies to put the finishing touches on the victory.

Senior goalkeeper Dominique Mosca (Merrick, N.Y.) earned her 13th victory of the season in goal as she notched six saves.

For Molloy, Caroline Winters made 11 saves in the loss, while Codi Reiser, Kaitlynn Kelly and Scocia each had two goals and Alexa Toscano registered four assists.

Head coach Meghan McNamara's squad has two regular season games left on their slate, a home contest against No. 12 Bentley on Sunday at noon, followed by a trip to Bridgeport to close out the regular season on Thursday, April 2 at 4 p.m.
