Sileo And Mosca Earn Second Consecutive ECC Honors
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (April 30, 2013) – For the second consecutive week, junior attacker
Jackie Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.) and senior goalkeeper
Dominique Mosca (Merrick, N.Y.) have been named the East Coast Conference Player and Goalkeeper of the Week.
For her third straight and sixth total Player of the Week honors, Sileo totaled 22 points during a 2-0 week for the Pioneers, giving her 391 for her career, which set a new NCAA DII career mark, breaking Stephanie Kienle's (West Chester) old mark of 390. Sileo scored eight goals and dished 14 assists on the week. She notched 11 points each against both Molloy and Bentley. Sileo also picked up two ground balls and caused two turnovers.
Mosca posted a 2-0 record between the pipes for the Pioneers. She recorded 18 saves for a .621 save percentage and allowed only 11 goals in two games for a 5.50 goals against average. Mosca stopped six shots in a win over Molloy and made 12 stops against Bentley. She also picked up seven ground balls and caused one turnover.
The Pioneers look to cap their regular season and begin preparation for NCAAs with a game at Bridgeport on May 2 at 4 p.m.
