Sileo, Mosca, McNamara Earn Top ECC Yearly Honors; 10 Pioneers Named All-Conference
2013 ECC All-Conference Teams
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (May 10, 2013) – Ten members of the LIU Post women's lacrosse team have been tabbed members of the 2013 East Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Teams. Junior attacker
Jackie Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.) garnered her second consecutive Player of the Year honors, senior
Dominique Mosca (Merrick, N.Y.) was tabbed the Goalkeeper of the Year, and
Meghan McNamara was named the Coach of the Year.
For the second straight year Sileo takes home the top award from the ECC. In 17 games on the season, Sileo has posted an amazing total of 158 points on 49 goals and 109 assists. Her scoring prowess ranks her No. 1 in the nation with 9.29 points per game and her point total is the second most in NCAA Division II history. Sileo also is tops in Division II in assists and assists per game (6.41). Only a junior, Sileo also became Division II's all-time leading scorer surpassing the old mark of 390 with an 11 point performance in a win over Bentley.
Mosca takes home the Goalkeeper of the Year honor for the second straight year after posting a perfect 15-0 record between the pipes for the Pioneers. Mosca led the conference in goals against average (6.35), and ranked second in save percentage (.523) while making 92 saves. In ECC action, she also posted a conference leading .557 save percentage and a 5.32 goals against average.
Meghan McNamara has been voted the Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year by her peers. Under McNamara's guidance, the Pioneers finished with an unblemished 17-0 record and spent the entire season ranked as the top team in Division II in the IWLCA poll. The defending National Champions also received their fifth berth in the last six seasons into the NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Tournament.
