Five Women's Lacrosse Players Tabbed To IWLCA All-Region First Team 5/9/2013 10:35:00 AM BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (May 9, 2013) – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association released its 2012 Division II All-North Region Team and five Pioneers have been selected to the First Team. Senior goalkeeper Dominique Mosca (Merrick, N.Y.), senior attacker Ashley Olen (East Islip, N.Y.), junior defender Melissa Rohr (Bethpage, N.Y.) junior midfielder Katie Rotan (West Islip, N.Y.) and junior attacker Jackie Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.) all earned First Team honors. Mosca and the LIU Post defense ranks seventh in Division II with 7.0 goals against per game. She totaled 92 saves in 15 games and posted a .523 save percentage. This season, Olen became the LIU Post All-Time Leading Goal Scorer when she notched her 217th career goal against Merrimack. Olen ranks second in Division II with 4.76 goals per game and has tallied 81 goals this season, also good for second in Division II. In addition, she has tallied 21 assists, 24 ground balls, and has caused 25 turnovers. Rohr has been a standout on the defensive side for the Pioneers, starting all 17 games this season. She has tallied 28 ground balls and has caused 7 turnovers for one of the nation's leading defenses. Rotan has totaled 48 points (37 goals, 11 assists) this season, while also grabbing 32 groundballs and causing 17 turnovers. Sileo leads all of Division II with 109 assists in 2013 and averages 6.41 assists per game, also good for tops in the country. She has also added 49 goals to lead the Pioneers with 158 points. She has also averaging a Division II-leading 9.29 points per game. The 17-0 Pioneers look to continue their winning ways when they take on Stonehill in the NCAA Division II North Regional on Saturday. Print Friendly Version
