Budkevics Earns First Professional Win in Rockland
POMONA, N.Y. (Aug. 19, 2013) - This past Saturday, LIU Post baseball pitching ace, and recent graduate,
Bo Budkevics (Deer Park, N.Y.), picked up his first win at the professional level for the Can-Am League's Rockland Boulders.
He tossed six frames of seven-hit, one-run, three-strikeout ball in a 2-1 win versus the Lincoln Saltdogs. So far this season, Budkevics has started seven of 14 appearances, and fanned 41 batters over that stretch (53.1 innings pitched).
In his final year with the Pioneers (2013), the Deer Park native posted a 4-4 record with a 2.06 earned-run average and 76 strikeouts. As a result, he was named to the All-East Coast Conference first-team at the campaign's conclusion.
