Baseball to Host Fall Tourney for Juvenile Diabetes Awareness
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Sept. 11, 2013) - On Sept. 21 and 22, the LIU Post baseball squad will hold a four-team tournament to "Pitch for a Cure" in Brookville, N.Y. All proceeds will benefit juvenile diabetes research.
The other participating institutions are Molloy, Concordia and Monroe Community. The schedule is as follows:
Saturday, September 21
10 a.m. - Molloy vs. Concordia
1 p.m. - LIU Post vs. Monroe Community
Sunday, September 22
10 a.m. - Consolation Game
1 p.m. - Championship Game
"LIU Post is proud to work in association with the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation in hosting a "Pitch for a Cure" tournament on our campus this fall," stated Head Coach Bill Gaffney (Westbury, N.Y.). "We appreciate the continued support and contributions from Concordia, Molloy and Monroe in highlighting the outstanding work done by the foundation."
Pitch For A Cure is a non-for-profit organization dedicated to providing assistance to sick and needy children in any capacity, fulfilling children's wish lists throughout the year, supporting families with financial assistance to defray medical expenses, and giving help to hospitals and childcare facilities.
