Volleyball Finishes Final Day of Vulcan Invitational With 3-0 Win

	CALIFORNIA, Pa. (Sept. 14, 2013) - On the final day of the Vulcan Invitational, the LIU Post volleyball squad went 1-1 with a win over Notre Dame (Ohio), after dropping the first match to Clarion. Junior Lulu Centro (Rome, Italy) and sophomore Rachel Ringor (Honolulu, Hawaii) were named to the All-Tournament Team.
	
	LIU Post improves to 5-2 on the season, Clarion moves to 7-0, and Notre Dame dips to 1-7.
	
	In the first contest versus Clarion, the Golden Eagles took the opening set, 25-15, before the Pioneers bounced back with a lopsided victory of their own in set two (25-12) to even the score at 1-all. Unfortunately, LIU Post was unable to keep pace with Clarion, as the Golden Eagles took the next two sets by scores of 25-14 and 25-16.
	
	Freshman Shelby McCool (Eugene, Ore.) was the lone Pioneer to reach a double-digit kill total with 12, while Centro was once again the assist leader with 28. Ringor and senior Makamae Namahoe (Hilo, Hawaii) were the dig leaders with 40, and 30, respectively.
	
	On the other side, three Clarion attackers hit double-digits in the kill column with Carlie Bieranowski leading the way with 14. Laura Subject registered a game-high 39 assists, and Hannah Heeter had a hand in four blocks at the net.
	
	Game two was a different story for the Pioneers, as they took the match in straight sets (25-13, 25-14, 25-20). This time, sophomore Melissa Hansen (Colorado Springs, Colo.) led the way with 11 kills, including an astounding attack percentage of .714. Namahoe chipped in with nine kills and 13 digs, while Ringor was the digs leader with 16. Centro continued her dominance in the assist column with 37 on the match.
	
	For the Falcons, Lindsay Shirilla and Stephanie Frick each totaled seven kills, and Shelby Regiec tossed up 21 assists.
	
	Next up for the Pioneers is a trip to New Haven, Conn. to take on Southern Connecticut State at 7 p.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 17).
