PHOENIX, Ariz. (Jan. 31, 2014) - On Friday, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America released its final NCAA Division II team rankings of the 2013-14 season, and the LIU Post women's swimming squad remained at No. 11.

In the green and gold's last meet, sophomore Meghan Brazier (West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) led the way, as she had a hand in four event wins - two individual and two relays. Her 'B' cut time of 56.97 in the 100-yard backstroke led to a new pool record and a fourth-best showing in school history. Also notching a 'B' cut in the race was fellow sophomore Joyce Kwok (Middle Village, N.Y.) with the second-best time of 57.49. Plus, Brazier swam a 'B' cut time in the 50-yard freestyle, just edging out classmate Marthe Soerensen (Stavanger, Norway) as the pair touched the pad at times of 24.09 and 24.29, respectively.

The pair teamed up in the two relay events, kicking off the meet with a winning time of 1:47.43 in the 200-yard medley relay. Joining Brazier and Soerensen with the gold were juniors Johanna Pettersson (Kungalv, Sweden) and Carolin Rademacher (Isernhagen, Germany). The hosts picked up the second-place victory in the event, as well, with senior Tamara Garriock (Duncan, British Columbia, Canada), junior Courtney Delehanty (Oceanport, N.J.), sophomore Seren Jones (Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom) and Kwok combining for a finishing time of 1:48.21.

Brazier, Soerensen, Kwok, and Pettersson closed out the meet with a pool record, 'B' cut, and fifth-best time in school history, recording a clocking of 3:32.39 in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Just behind them at 3:37.81 securing silver was sophomore Kat Kazaba (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J.), senior Angelica Norrena (Solna, Sweden), Jones, and Delehanty.

Setting the sole team record on the day was Garriock with her showing in the 100-yard breaststroke. The senior posted a time of 1:03.95, shaving 1.05 seconds off her previous record set last fall, while grabbing a 'B' cut time and pool record along the way. Following her up in the event was Rademacher with a time of 1:07.61.

Rademacher also placed second in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:10.67, while Pettersson was able to establish a pool record as she swam a 'B' cut standard of 2:07.67.

The final two LIU Post golds came via freshman Poppy Hill (London, England, United Kingdom) and Soerensen. Hill knocked three seconds off of her previous third-best time in Pioneer history with a time of 10:41.84 in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Barely edging out Norrena, Soerensen pulled out the victory in the 100-yard freestyle after reaching for the wall at 53.61 with Norrena right behind at 54.10.

Senior Malin Hedberg (Vasteras, Sweden) was able to grasp a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle as she ended with a time of 5:14.72. Edging her out was Bridgeport's Adeline Martin, who swam a 'B' cut time of 5:06.44.

The fifth and final pool record of the day was set by Armony Dumur of the Purple Knights with her time of 55.38 in the 100-yard butterfly.
