SOUTH EASTON, Mass. (Oct. 6, 2014) - Coming off a combined six-goal, four-assist showing in two wins last week, LIU Post junior forward Keliann Margiotta (Sewell, N.J.) and graduate defender Dani Crouse (Westville, South Africa) were named the Northeast-10 Player and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, on Monday. It is the third time that Margiotta has earned this distinction in 2014, while Crouse has twice received praise from the league.

Margiotta continued to be an offensive threat in both of the green and gold's victories over No. 8 Adelphi and Franklin Pierce. The Sewell native currently leads all of Division II in goals per game, and added three tallies to her efforts this week. In LIU Post's contest against Adelphi (Sept. 30), Margiotta netted the game-winning goal in overtime, finding the back of the cage off a long pass from midfield. Then, in the Pioneers' first conference match versus Franklin Pierce (Oct. 5), she scored two goals just over two minutes apart from each other, and dished off two assists, helping her team to an 8-0 victory and a 1-0 mark in the NE-10.

Crouse proved that she is not just a defensive anchor, but also a staple in LIU Post's offense. In the Pioneers' 2-1 overtime victory against Adelphi, she registered a shot on goal and an assist. Versus conference competitor Franklin Pierce, Crouse picked up a hat trick and an assist, while commanding a Pioneer back line that limited the Ravens to no shots.

Head Coach Raenee Savin and the LIU Post field hockey squad are back in action Saturday (Oct. 11), when they travel to North Andover, Mass. for an NE-10 showdown at Merrimack. The opening whistle is scheduled for 11 a.m.
