Women's Soccer Listed 23rd in Latest BennettRank Poll
BELLEVUE, Wash. (Oct. 6, 2014) - After capturing its seventh- and eighth-straight wins last week, the LIU Post women's soccer team cracked into BennettRank's Division II Top-25 rankings at No. 23 on Monday.
The Pioneers came away with two big victories last week, cruising to a 5-0 shutout of Caldwell on Tuesday (Sept. 30) and a 2-0 triumph over East Coast Conference rival Queens on Sunday (Oct. 5).
LIU Post was led by junior
Susanne Vistnes (Randaberg, Norway) and senior
Lauren Bellone (West Islip, N.Y.). Both players had multi-goal games to power the green and gold's offense. Vistnes recorded a hat trick and an assist against Caldwell, while Bellone scored both goals versus Queens and added two helpers in the rout of Caldwell.
The Pioneers return to action on Thursday (Oct. 9), when they host Wilmington in a non-conference tilt at Pioneer Soccer Park in Brookville, N.Y. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
