NORFOLK, Va. (Dec. 23, 2014) - On Monday afternoon, the LIU Post women's swimming team got an early Christmas present, as it jumped one spot to No. 5 in the latest CSCAA Division II Top-25 Poll. It is the highest ranking the Pioneers have received in program history.
Since being ranked sixth in the initial ledger on Nov. 14, the green and gold placed sixth at the Rutgers Invitational, and topped Sacred Heart in dual meet action (117-102). At the Rutgers Invite, the Pioneers swam to 20 different NCAA provisional times, while junior
Joyce Kwok (Middle Village, N.Y.) clocked automatic qualifying marks for the national meet in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events.
Drury continued to occupy the top slot in the tally. Queens (N.C.), Wingate and UC San Diego followed in suit. LIU Post and Florida Southern traded places at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
Head Coach
Maureen Travers and the Pioneers return to the pool on Saturday, Jan. 17, when they travel to Loudonville, N.Y. for a 1 p.m. dual at Siena.
