Mets Hall of Famer Ed Kranepool to Speak at Bullpen Dinner

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Feb. 18, 2014) - On Tuesday, the LIU Post baseball team revealed that former New York Met Ed Kranepool will be speaking at the 2014 Bullpen Dinner on Thursday, Feb. 20 at the Swan Club in Roslyn, N.Y.

Kranepool, a Bronx, N.Y. native, spent his entire career with the Mets, earning a September call-up in 1962 at the age of 17. He was named to the 1965 National League All-Star Team, and won a World Series with the Miracle Mets in 1969. For his career, he hit .261 with 118 homers and 614 RBI. Then, in 1990, Kranepool was elected into the New York Mets Hall of Fame.

All proceeds from the Bullpen Dinner will benefit Pioneer baseball, as well as stroke research.

The event, which will also include the induction of alumnus Ken Auer ('93) into the LIU Post Baseball Hall of Fame, begins at 6 p.m.
