Women's Lacrosse Holds Court in Lacrosse Magazine Top-15 Poll
BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 18, 2014) - In the first regular-season tally of 2014, the LIU Post women's lacrosse team remained atop Lacrosse Magazine's Division II Top-15 Poll, released Monday.
The Top-10 spots remained unchanged from Lacrosse Magazine's preseason ledger, which was announced back in January. Though eight of those squads have yet to kick off their campaigns, Limestone (No. 4) and Rollins (No. 6) opened play last week. The Saints shut out Young Harris, while the Tars split a pair of decisions versus Tampa and Queens (N.C.).
The Pioneers were joined by only one other East Coast Conference program in the poll. Dowling retained its No. 9 slot.
Lindenwood, a 16-10 winner over Grand Valley State, placed 11th. Florida Southern, Indiana (Pa.), New Haven and Saint Anselm rounded it out.
LIU Post begins the defense of its NCAA Division II National Championship on Saturday, Mar. 1 at home versus Bloomsburg. Action is scheduled to get underway from Hickox Field at 2 p.m.
