Hannan, Vagelatos Earn ECC Weekly Accolades

Katie Hannan (Gansevoort, N.Y.) and freshman attacker
Stefani Vagelatos (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) as its goalie and rookie of the week on Monday, respectively.
Hannan was a stalwart in the cage for the Pioneers in their wins over fourth-ranked Le Moyne and Southern New Hampshire. She made 14 saves in the 13-5 victory over Le Moyne on Mar. 5, and then came back Saturday to stop seven shots in LIU Post's 18-4 rout of SNHU. Hannan posted a .750 save percentage with a goals-against average of 4.02 between the two contests.
The senior currently ranks third in the country with a .702 save percentage, and is also in the Top-10 in goals-against average (5.11). Hannan ranks 11th as well with an average of 11 saves per game.
Vagelatos made the most of her first two career starts in an LIU Post uniform. She scored a hat trick on four shots to help defeat Le Moyne, and followed it up with a five-point outing on Saturday to knock off the Penmen. The freshman scored three times and assisted on two other goals to bring her season points total up to nine. On the year, Vagelatos has put seven shots in the back of the cage on 11 shots.
No. 1 ranked LIU Post will play its next two games in Florida, starting Wednesday night (Mar. 12) against Bentley in Orlando, Fla. The opening draw is scheduled for 7 p.m.
