ALBANY, N.Y. (Mar. 13, 2014)
- On Thursday, senior forward Vaughn Allen (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) of LIU Post was named to the 2013-14 Daktronics Men's Basketball All-East Region second-team. The award is the first time he has been recognized in this postseason selection.

A three-time first-team All-ECC member, Allen concluded his career with LIU Post by averaging nearly a double-double. The senior poured in 16.6 points per game and grabbed 9.3 rebounds per game, which ranks 32nd among all NCAA Division II men's basketball players.

He also got his share of second-chance opportunities, as the Mount Vernon, N.Y. native pulled down the fourth-most offensive rebounds in the country (4.4). The forward did his part shooting the basketball as well, sporting a field-goal percentage of .502, while leading the green and gold with a 71.2 percent mark from the foul line.

In addition to his output this season, Allen made his mark on the program records with the Pioneers. He became the team's all-time leading rebounder on Feb. 22, and concluded his four-year career with 904 total boards. Plus, the senior finished with 1,517 total points, which is sixth-best all-time in Brookville.

Allen and the Pioneers rounded out the 2013-14 campaign with an overall record of 17-12, and a 12-8 ledger in East Coast Conference play. LIU Post made it to the ECC Tournament, but fell in the first round to St. Thomas Aquinas, 65-64, on Mar. 4.
