Sileo Elected ECC Player of the Week

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Mar. 17, 2014) - On Monday, LIU Post women's lacrosse senior attacker Jackie Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.) garnered East Coast Conference Player of the Week honors, the league announced. She amassed a whopping 29 points over a three-game stretch.

Sileo started off the week Wednesday with a six-point showing (2 G, 4 A) in a 17-2 rout of Bentley in Disney. One day later, she tallied five goals and five assists (10 points) in a 19-6 win over Saint Leo. The last of her five helpers was also her 300th career assist. Lastly, on Saturday, the Wantagh, N.Y. native tied her single-game career-high for scoring, collecting 13 points (5 G, 8 A), in a 22-2 victory at Holy Family.

For the year, Sileo currently leads all of NCAA Division II and the ECC in points (46) and assists (28). She ranks third in the nation in assists per game (4.57) as well, while placing fourth in the league in goals (18).

Sileo and the Pioneers return to action Wednesday (Mar. 19), when they host Mercy in an ECC showdown at Hickox Field in Brookville, N.Y. The opening draw is scheduled for 4 p.m.
