BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Mar. 31, 2014) - On Monday, both the IWLCA and Lacrosse Magazine listed LIU Post as the No. 1 women's lacrosse team in their weekly Top-15 polls. The top honors came after the Pioneers snagged two more victories in the past week, running their winning streak to 33 consecutive games.

The green and gold recorded their ninth and tenth wins in the 2014 campaign by defeating Assumption, 15-5, and Roberts Wesleyan, 19-6. With these two victories, LIU Post stretched its scoring margin over all opponents to a 176-40 mark.

The Pioneers were paced by a trio of attackers in their two routs this past week. Senior Jackie Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.) led the way for the green and gold with a combined 16 points (5 G, 11 A) in the two contests. Sileo has placed herself as the leader in points (77) and assists (48) in the country. Fellow fourth-year player Morgan Chiarenza (Nesconset, N.Y.) and junior Jenna Pierro (Holbrook, N.Y.) each contributed nine points to the cause in the two-game stretch. Chiarenza scored five goals and tallied four assists, while Pierro put home a hat trick in each match and added three assists to her account.

The Top-5 stayed consistent in both the IWLCA and Lacrosse Magazine polls. The Pioneers are closely followed by Adelphi, Limestone, Le Moyne and Florida Southern, respectively. Both ledgers have Mercyhurst making their first appearance in the Top-15, as the Lakers are ranked 14th by each polling body.

Each poll saw one team fall out of the rankings for this week. Stonehill slid off the Top-15 in the IWLCA rankings, but in the Lacrosse Magazine tally, West Chester saw its name in the "also considered" category for the first time all season.

Sileo, Pierro, Chiarenza and the top-ranked Pioneers will battle with the Golden Lions of Dowling on Wednesday (Apr. 2) in a pivotal East Coast Conference match-up in Brookhaven, N.Y. The opening draw control is set for 4 p.m.
