BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Apr. 14, 2014) - Despite playing a tight game against No. 14 Stonehill on Saturday, the LIU Post women's lacrosse team continued to hold the No. 1 spot in Monday's IWLCA and Lacrosse Magazine Division II polls.

For the first time since last year's national championship game, the Pioneers found themselves trailing an opponent in the second half of a game, as Stonehill took a 7-5 lead with 23 minutes to play. In fact, it was the first time that LIU Post was behind by two or more goals in a regular-season contest since Apr. 24, 2012, when the green and gold lost to West Chester, 18-15. However, LIU Post managed an 11-9 victory over the Skyhawks by scoring six of the last eight goals to maintain the unblemished season.

In the IWLCA's most recent poll, the three undefeated teams maintained their places atop the standings with LIU Post, Adelphi and Limestone sitting at No. 1, 2 and 3, respectively. The Top-8 teams in the ballot remained unchanged, while Pfeiffer and Le Moyne swapped at ninth and tenth from last week.

The rest of the Lacrosse Magazine poll saw an unchanged Top-10, as the Pioneers, Adelphi and Limestone held serve as the top three teams in the tally. Coincidentally, these three squads are the only remaining unbeaten schools in NCAA Division II women's lacrosse.

The newest team to enter the Top-15 echelon in both polls was Regis (Colo.), which ironically defeated Rollins, the team it replaced in each listing.

Head Coach Meghan McNamara and her LIU Post squad will host their final home game of the 2014 season on Saturday (Apr. 19) against East Coast Conference opponent UDC. The opening draw is set for noon. The pre-game festivities will include a Senior Day ceremony, at which time the team will honor seniors Morgan Chiarenza (Nesconset, N.Y.), Katie Hannan (Gansevoort, N.Y.), Samantha Losco (Smithtown, N.Y.), Melissa Rohr (Bethpage, N.Y.), Katie Rotan (West Islip, N.Y.), Renee Schwartz (Lockport, N.Y.), and Jackie Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.).
