Baseball Drops Series Opener at Dowling, 11-2
Box Score BROOKHAVEN, N.Y. (Apr. 17, 2014) - The LIU Post baseball team struggled offensively Thursday, as the Pioneers lost the series opener to Dowling, 11-2, at Golden Lions Field in Brookhaven, N.Y.
Dowling (23-8, 11-1 ECC) jumped in front with two runs in the first, two in the second, one in the fourth and three in the fifth, before the Pioneers (12-11, 6-6 ECC) were able to break through with their first offensive action.

Brian Tinney (Farmingdale, N.Y.) led off the sixth inning with the first hit off Dowling's starter, Tyler Badamo. With runners on the corners, senior
Tom Tolan (Malverne, N.Y.) reached on a fielder's choice, scoring Tinney for the green and gold's first run.

Anthony Brunetti (Bayville, N.Y.) plated fellow junior
Rick Alessi (St. James, N.Y.) with an RBI groundout to first.
