Williams Dubbed ECAC First-Team All-Star
CENTERVILLE, Mass. (Apr. 18, 2014) - On Friday, the Eastern College Athletic Conference revealed its 2013-14 Division II Women's Basketball All-Stars, and LIU Post junior guard
Chelsea Williams (Copiague, N.Y.) made the cut.
Following one of the best single-season performances in Pioneer history, Williams has been showered with postseason accolades. Earlier this week, she was selected to the 2013-14 All-Met Division II first-team.
The junior racked up 610 points over 31 games, good enough for a 19.7 scoring average. She shot 40.1 percent from the floor and 35.9 percent from three-point land, while grabbing 5.6 rebounds per game. In addition to being named a Women's Division II Bulletin Honorable Mention, the Copiague, N.Y. native received ECC Player of the Year and Daktronics All-East Region first-team recognition. She also landed on the All-ECC first-team, ECC All-Tournament Team and the NCAA Division II East Region All-Tournament squad.
Plus, Williams netted her 1,000th career point in the green and gold's win over Assumption in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II East Regional on Mar. 14.
