Women's Lacrosse Enters Home Stretch at No. 1 in Top-15 Polls
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Apr. 21, 2014) - Entering the final week of the regular season, the LIU Post women's lacrosse team reclaimed its No. 1 ranking in the IWLCA and Lacrosse Magaine Division II Top-15 Polls, released Monday.
LIU Post, which had its only game last week cancelled, narrowly edged Adelphi for the top spot in the IWLCA tally. The Pioneers claimed 218 votes (120 first-place), whereas the Panthers got 217 votes (105 first-place). Limestone, New Haven and Lindenwood stood pat in its positions to round out the Top-5.
Florida Southern and Lock Haven followed, while Pfeiffer and Le Moyne were tied for eighth. Mercyhurst moved up two notches to take the No. 10 slot. Stonehill and Saint Anselm made slight jumps to 12th and 14th, respectively. Regis (Colo.) rounded it out at No. 15.
In the Lacrosse Magazine poll, the Top-7 were unchanged, led by mainstays LIU Post and Adelphi. Lock Haven (No. 8), Le Moyne (No. 9), Mercyhurst (No. 10) and Regis (Colo.) (No. 11) each took a step forward. West Chester reappeared in 14th after earning votes last week.

Meghan McNamara and the Pioneers are in action next on Thursday (Apr. 24), when they head to West Haven, Conn. to face No. 4/4 New Haven. The opening draw is scheduled for 4 p.m.
