CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (May 1, 2014) - For the third-straight year, LIU Post women's lacrosse senior attacker Jackie Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.) has been named the East Coast Conference Player of the Year, the league revealed Thursday. Meanwhile, fellow seniors Melissa Rohr (Bethpage, N.Y.) and Katie Hannan (Gansevoort, N.Y.) respectively garnered co-defensive player and goalkeeper of the year honors.

Sileo, a five-time ECC Player of the Week selection in 2014, currently paces all of NCAA Division II and the conference in points (127) and assists (80). Her 47 goals rank in the Top-5 amongst the league's top scorers, as well. Earlier this year, Sileo became the NCAA's all-time leading point-getter in women's lacrosse history, breaking Division III record-holder Ashley Hansbury's 500-point clip at Dowling on Apr. 2.

Rohr shared the ECC Co-Defensive Player of the Year Award with Dowling's Samantha Stavish. The Bethpage, N.Y. native anchored a defensive unit that held the opposition to the least amount of goals in the conference, and the second-fewest in the nation. In addition, Rohr's 27 ground balls on the season are tied for second-best on the team.

In the cage, Hannan took over for four-year starter Dominique Mosca (Merrick, N.Y.). Despite having big shoes to fill, the goalie lived up to the challenge, sporting a flawless 16-0 record with 89 saves and an ECC-best 5.37 goals-against average. She also posted a .549 save percentage, which is tops in Division II. On Mar. 5, Hannan had her best start to-date, making a season-best 14 saves in a 13-5 win over then-No. 4 Le Moyne.

From the sidelines, Meghan McNamara captured her third ECC Coach of the Year honor in a row. Guiding her team to a 16-0 ledger thus far in 2014, McNamara, who owns a 115-14 lifetime mark at LIU Post, has helped the Pioneers to 39 consecutive wins since 2012.

Senior attacker/midfielder Samantha Losco (Smithtown, N.Y.), senior midfielder Katie Rotan (West Islip, N.Y.), junior midfielder Jenna Pierro (Holbrook, N.Y.) and junior defender Kali Maxwell (Colorado Springs, Colo.) round out the All-ECC first-team honorees for the green and gold.

Entering the postseason, Losco, a first-time All-ECC pick, is LIU Post's second-leading scorer with 67 points (45 G, 22 A). She sits fifth in the conference in each scoring category through 16 games.

Rotan has tallied 37 goals and nine assists for a 46-point output. Plus, she leads her squad and ranks sixth in the ECC with 36 ground balls, while placing third on the team in draw controls (30) and caused turnovers (12). Pierro's statistical numbers are similar to Rotan. She racked up 23 ground balls, 22 draws and 10 caused turnovers in the regular season, to go along with a 36-point total (27 G, 9 A).

From the opening whistle, Maxwell won more than her share of draw controls, collecting 42 of them. Moreover, the Colorado Springs, Colo. product was a force on the defensive side of the field, causing a team-leading 16 turnovers.

LIU Post's second-team representation was composed of senior attacker Morgan Chiarenza (Nesconset, N.Y.), junior defender Emily Hanifan (Hicksville, N.Y.) and freshman midfielder Connor Bird (Syosset, N.Y.).

Chiarenza is slotted fourth on the Pioneers in scoring, amassing 48 points (25 G, 23 A). Her 23 helpers presently list her fourth in the league in that category. Hanifan used her elusive speed to escape defenders and push the ball across midfield, resulting in an 83.0 percent (205-of-247) success rate on clears. Furthermore, the junior has credited 24 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers to her name in 2014.

Lastly, Bird is the first LIU Post freshman in three years to earn All-ECC recognition. The rookie excelled on the draw, winning a team-high 58 (third-most in ECC) of them.
