YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. (Jun. 4, 2014) - On Wednesday, senior attacker Jackie Sileo (Wantagh, N.Y.) of the LIU Post women's lacrosse team was named to the Capital One Academic All-America At-Large second-team. It is the second year in a row that she has earned this recognition.

Sileo, who was dubbed an Academic All-District first-team selection a few weeks ago, helped the Pioneers to an 18-2 finish, an appearance in the NCAA Division II national semifinals and a No. 3 ranking in the final 2014 IWLCA Top-15 Poll. Last season, the Wantagh, N.Y. native claimed Academic All-America At-Large third-team laurels.

Sileo achieved a 3.68 grade-point average while completing her bachelor's degree in Psychology. She is currently pursuing a master's degree at LIU Post in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and boasts an impressive 4.0 GPA in that field of study.

On the field, Sileo dominated the scoresheets. The senior was the top point-getter in the country for the third-consecutive year, as she compiled 59 goals and an NCAA Division II-best 89 assists for a total of 144 points. She was the national leader in assists per game (4.45) as well, marking the third time in as many seasons that she achieved that feat.

Furthermore, Sileo finished her collegiate career with an outstanding 564 points (195 G, 369 A). That total ranks as the highest among all Division I, II and III women's lacrosse athletes.

For her efforts, Sileo captured her third-straight East Coast Conference Player of the Year honor, while also being selected as an IWLCA All-American, ECAC All-Star, a Tewaaraton Award nominee, and a finalist for the CWSA Honda Division II Athlete of the Year Award.

The CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-America Division II Women's At-Large program includes the sports of bowling, crew, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis and water polo.
