Women's Golf Places Fifth at Dickinson Fall Invitational

HARRISBURG, Pa. (Sept. 14, 2014) - The LIU Post women's golf team began its inaugural season of competition Saturday at the Dickinson Fall Invitational, held at the Blue Ridge Golf Club in Harrisburg, Pa.
As a squad, LIU Post shot a combined 393, 105 strokes over par, which was good enough for a fifth-place finish. Individually, junior
Hannah Pohalski (Huntington, N.Y.) and sophomore
Shelby Towsend (Panora, Iowa) led the green and gold as both shot a 92, placing just outside of the Top-10 with an 11th-place showing. Pohalski holed the team's first-ever birdie on the fifth green, while Towsend sank the program's first par on the opening hole.
Senior
Nicole Przonek (Glen Head, N.Y.) posted a 16th-place round of 96. Fellow senior
Nokkie Koonvisal (Bangkok, Thailand) rounded out the Pioneers' scoring with a 113-stroke total.
Head Coach
Tom Kane and his LIU Post team return to action on Saturday (Sept. 20), when they travel to South Hadley, Mass. to compete at the Mount Holyoke Invitational.
