Poole Named Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach at Virginia Tech
BLACKSBURG, Va. (Sept. 2, 2014) - After two successful seasons as the head coach at Bloomsburg, former LIU Post All-American
Mallory Poole (Corning, N.Y.) recently moved up the ranks to Division I program Virginia Tech as an assistant coach.
In her two years at Bloomsburg, Poole compiled a record of 19-16 (.542 winning percentage) and led the Huskies to a pair of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Tournament appearances. She also mentored six All-PSAC honorees, one of whom was named to the IWLCA All-South Region Team in 2014.
Poole now joins a Hokie squad in Blacksburg that posted a 7-10 mark a season ago. Each of those seven victories came against non-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) opposition.
During her undergraduate playing days at LIU Post, the Corning, N.Y. native had a decorated career. In addition to capturing an NCAA Division II National Championship in 2007, Poole, who held previous assistant coaching stints at Stevens Institute of Technology and Dartmouth, earned All-America and All-Region honors from the IWLCA in each of her four years in Brookville.
Following her junior campaign, she was the only non-Division I player selected to the United States Developmental Team. One season later, Poole, as a senior, was unanimously chosen as the East Coast Conference Player of the Year.
