Cross Country Runs Fourth, Fifth at USATF Codfish Bowl 
				
				
						
				
		
				 Men's ResultsWomen's ResultsBOSTON, Mass. (Sept. 27, 2014) - The LIU Post men's and women's cross country teams raced to a fifth- and fourth-place finish, respectively, at the USATF Codfish Bowl on Saturday. The Pioneer effort was highlighted by a 
Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.) first-place effort and a Michael Scott (Fultonville, N.Y.) fifth-place showing.
The men's squad came in fifth (132 total points) out of 11 collegiate institutions represented at Franklin Park. First to cross the finish line for the green and gold was Scott at 26:29. The red-shirt sophomore finished just 30 seconds behind the first-place runner. Junior 
Steven Arnone (Staten Island, N.Y.) completed the course about a minute after Scott, clocking in at 27:40 and placing 22nd. Freshman 
Ryan Gioe (Huntington Station, N.Y.) posted a time of 29:28, while 
Joseph Lasher (Seaford, N.Y.) rounded out the LIU Post effort with a 30:50 clocking.
On the women's side, Williams once again set the mark for a Pioneer fourth-place, 104 total point, finish out of 12 institutions represented. The Schenectady native crossed the finish line first over all 141 women at 18:57. Coming in just over a minute later for the green and gold was junior 
Elizabeth Stirling (Wantagh, N.Y.
) at 20:13, good for an 18th-place performance. Senior 
Shaylyn Stehl (Wantagh, N.Y.) ran 22nd (20:22), while fellow senior 
Brooke Rozea (Syosset, N.Y.) completed the course in a 31st-place time of 21:01. Capping off the LIU Post endeavor were freshman 
Lauren Hoffman (Melville, N.Y.) and red-shirt junior 
Jessica Wiking (Farmingdale, N.Y.), individually finishing in 21:14 and 22:59.

Rob Morris and the Pioneers are back in action on Saturday (Oct. 4), when they compete at the NJIT Highlander Challenge in Jersey City, N.J.
