NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Oct. 14, 2015) - Freshman forward/midfielder Molly Cunha (North Easton, Mass.) recorded the lone goal in the 61st minute Wednesday to lift the LIU Post field hockey team to a 1-0 win against Northeast-10 Conference opponent Southern Connecticut State University at Jess Dow Field.

The Pioneers (7-5, 3-4 NE-10), who have won three of their last four, dominated the Owls (4-9, 3-5 NE-10) in the contest, outshooting them by an overwhelming 23-1 count.

Late in the second half, LIU Post struck for the only tally of the game. Cunha, on a scramble in front, tucked a shot into the cage to give the Pioneers a 1-0 lead with 9:12 remaining in regulation.

Six different players had multiple shots on the night for the green and gold, paced by a game-best eight attempts from senior forward Keliann Margiotta (Sewell, N.J.).

Between the pipes, junior goalie Ericka Parks (Nesconset, N.Y.) made one save for the Pioneers. The decision improved Parks' record to 4-4 on the season.

Head Coach Raenee Savin and her LIU Post squad are back in action Saturday (Oct. 17), when they host NE-10 foe Saint Michael's College at noon at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium in Brookville, N.Y.
