BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Oct. 22, 2015) - In conjunction with its 7 p.m. match against Molloy College, the LIU Post volleyball team will host a "Dig Purple" event on Thursday at the Pratt Recreation Center.
In an effort to support those afflicted with pancreatic cancer, the Pioneers will sell raffle prizes and collect donations, with proceeds benefitting cancer awareness.
The Pioneers will also hold a "Cheer for Pizza" contest, in which the loudest contingent of fans at the match will receive a free pizza from the team.
Pancreatic cancer accounts for about three percent of all cancers in the United States, and is responsible for about seven percent of cancer deaths.
