BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Nov. 30, 2015) - For the third-consecutive season, LIU Post has boasted the Division II Conference Commissioners Association Men's Soccer East Region Player of the Year. Senior midfielder Per Forgaard (Stavanger, Norway) was named the recipient of the award on Monday morning.

Prior to Forgaard, former LIU Post standout forward Eivind Austboe (Stavanger, Norway) garnered East Region Player of the Year accolades each of the last two seasons.

In addition to Forgaard's honor and All-East Region first-team selection, graduate back Seb Baxter (Saffon Walden, England), senior midfielder Matias Ruiz (Southampton, N.Y.), junior forward Jason Lampkin (Hawardon, North Wales, U.K.) and junior goalkeeper Jesper Malmstrom (Linkopping, Sweden) were named to the second-team.

Forgaard, who was selected as the East Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year, ranked in the Top-20 in Division II in nearly every offensive category. He led the ECC in goals (13), assists (13) and points (39), while placing fourth in the conference in shots (58) and sixth in game-winners (2).

Forgaard earned an overwhelming 16 first-place votes, en route to claiming the region's top honor.

Forgaard, Baxter, Ruiz, Lampkin and Malmstrom, all of whom received All-ECC first-team distinction, helped propel the Pioneers to the ECC regular-season and tournament titles, and their second-straight NCAA Division II East Region Championship.

Malmstrom, the 2015 ECC Goalkeeper of the Year, posted a record of 13-3-3. He finished with six shutouts and ranked 43rd in Division II in goals-against average (1.04).

Lampkin finished second on the team with 23 points (seven goals, nine assists), while Ruiz was third with 21 points (seven goals, seven assists). Baxter aided in leading a defensive unit that limited opponents to 24 goals in 21 games.
