BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Mar. 30, 2015) - The LIU Post women's lacrosse team was ranked ninth in the latest IWLCA Division II Poll on Monday, as the Pioneers are currently riding a season-best five-game winning streak. The green and gold find themselves in the No. 11 spot in the most recent Nike/Lacrosse Magazine Division II tally, which was also released Monday.

LIU Post (8-2, 3-0 ECC) is coming off of a three-win week, which included an East Coast Conference victory over Molloy on Saturday (Mar. 28) and a win against No. 12/14 Saint Anselm on Wednesday (Mar. 25). Red-shirt sophomore attacker Emily Delaney (Long Valley, N.J.) scored a career-high nine points in the 18-2 romp of Molloy, collecting three goals and six assists in the contest. Delaney also added five points in the victory against Saint Anselm, with senior midfielder Jenna Pierro (Holbrook, N.Y.) netting a hat trick and four total points. Meanwhile, sophomore defender/midfielder Cara Douglas (West Islip, N.Y.) scored four times and tallied a season-best five points in the Pioneers' most recent triumph, a 16-6 waxing of Findlay on Sunday (Mar. 29). Freshman goaltender Olivia Kirk (Farmingdale, N.Y.) made 17 total saves in the three wins, and lowered her conference-leading goals-against average to a 6.53 mark, which is also the seventh-best GAA in the country.

Consistency was the headline for the Top-3 in each poll, as Adelphi, Lock Haven and Lindenwood (Mo.) remained in front of all other programs this week. The three schools compile three-quarters of the unbeaten teams remaining in the Division II women's lacrosse polls, with Stonehill sporting a 9-0 record so far this season. The Skyhawks appear to be the most polarizing team, however, as the Nike/LM ballot places them fourth, while the IWLCA tally lists them as No. 7 overall. Florida Southern ranks fourth in the IWLCA poll and Le Moyne rounds out the Top-5. The Mocs, registering a 12-2 mark overall this year, are No. 5 in the Nike/LM ledger.

Head Coach Meghan McNamara and the LIU Post women's lacrosse team will trek to Connecticut on Wednesday (Apr. 1) to face ECC opponent Bridgeport at 3 p.m. The Purple Knights (7-0, 3-0 ECC) are off to their best start in program history, but have remained off the radar screen in terms of both polls.
