BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Apr. 20, 2015) - The LIU Post baseball team climbed one spot and is now ranked ninth in the latest East Region Poll, released Monday by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

The Pioneers (15-12, 12-8 ECC) went 4-2 in their six contests over this past week, splitting a four-game conference series with Bridgeport after defeating regional opponent Dominican in a mid-week contest and topping conference foe Dowling on Monday. LIU Post is the third team from the East Coast Conference ranked in the Top-10 of the latest NCBWA East Region tally, behind No. 5 St. Thomas Aquinas and the sixth-ranked Golden Lions. A fourth squad from the ECC, Molloy, received a point in the ledger.

The green and gold will play two opponents this week that are both listed in this week's NCBWA ballot. First, the Pioneers will host No. 10 Concordia (N.Y.) on Tuesday (Apr. 21) at LIU Post Baseball Field. Then, on Thursday (Apr. 23), the team will travel to Rindge, N.H. and face No. 1 Franklin Pierce. The Ravens are currently 34-2 and the third-ranked team in the nation. Both contests are slated to begin at 3 p.m. Following the two non-conference games, the Pioneers will play their final ECC series this upcoming weekend against Queens.
