BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Apr. 26, 2015) - The No. 9/10 LIU Post women's lacrosse team rounded out the 2015 regular season Sunday with an 18-1 rout of Queens in East Coast Conference action at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.

Nine different players tallied a goal in the win. Red-shirt sophomore attacker Emily Delaney (Long Valley, N.J.) led all players with eight points (3 G, 5 A). Sophomore attacker Stefani Vagelatos (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) collected five points (4 G, 1 A). Fellow sophomore attacker Connor Bird (Syosset, N.Y.) also amassed five points (3 G, 2 A), in addition to winning a game-high six draw controls.

Senior midfielder Jenna Pierro (Holbrook, N.Y.) had three goals and one assist for a four-point showing. She racked up three ground balls and two draws, as well. Senior defenders Kali Maxwell (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Emily Hanifan (Hicksville, N.Y.) and junior defender/midfielder Brittany Smith (Dix Hills, N.Y.) all scored their first collegiate goals.

Bird staked the Pioneers (13-4, 8-0 ECC) to a 2-0 start, tallying back-to-back goals in the opening 3:49. She registered three tallies in the first 30 minutes of play. Pierro added a pair of goals, while Delaney dished out four assists, as the green and gold took a 10-0 advantage into halftime.

In the second half, LIU Post, which dominated Queens (2-12, 1-7 ECC) by a 33-8 count in shots, continued to pour it on. Seven different players found the back of the cage in the period for the Pioneers, including Smith and Hanifan.

Between the pipes, freshman goalie Olivia Kirk (Farmingdale, N.Y.) made one save for the hosts. Junior goaltender Kasey Kephart (Nesconset, N.Y.) and freshman cageminder Courtney Jenkins (Longwood, Fla.) stopped three and two shots, respectively.

Head Coach Meghan McNamara and the Pioneers have secured their third-straight East Coast Conference regular-season title. They will boast the top seed in the upcoming ECC Tournament, and host fourth-seeded Molloy in a semifinal contest on Thursday (Apr. 30) at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium. The opening draw is set for 3 p.m.
